GeoGraphic

Mapping, Cartography and Geographic Information Systems

I’ve been rather busy lately, getting things done and delivering the odd presenatation here and there.

I note that SlideShare have moved to a ‘freemium’ model, severely resticting the size of uploads to their site, so I’m giving SpeakerDeck a whirl for my most recent presentation – ‘What’s special about Spatial’ – which I gave at 3DCamp in Limerick yesterday.

Here it is:

If the deck doesn’t appear please try reloading the page, or you can see the presentation on the SpeakerDeck site here

We had a great day at the MapInfo Irish User Conference yesterday. I will blog a bit more about it at the weekend, but in the meantime here is my slide deck:

You may want to click through to SlideShare to see the speaker notes.

I’ve signed up for Pinterest, an online image sharing site. I used to bookmark interesting images, and use some of them in my presentations, but even that activity has become social now.

I am mostly pinning map or data related images, you can check them out my pinboard here.

My employer, GAMMA, is organising a conference for Irish MapInfo users on the 7th March 2012, in Chartered Accountants House, on Pearse Street in Dublin, the same venue used for GIS Ireland in recent years.

The schedule has been finalised, and can be seen here.

As you can see there are quite a variety of speakers, ranging from Local Government in Ireland to PBBI specialists, as well as speakers from GAMMA.

I’ll be talking about Irish Geocoding and AutoAddress, and I’ll post my slide deck on here afterwards, as usual.

The conference is free, and there are still places available. If you’re interested in attending please contact my colleague Ronan O’Connor at ronan.oconnor@gamma.ie
